All About the Juicy Couture Clothing Line
Juicy Couture is has become a full line of casual apparel and is based in the West Coast of California. Juicy was originally founded by Gela Nash-Taylor and Pamela Skaist-Levy, but is now owned by the popular Liz Claiborne fashion company. Juicy became more well known as famous people were spotted around the world wearing their popular terry and velour track suits which say "Juicy" across the back of the pants.
Juicy Couture Clothing - Humble Beginnings
When Gela Nash and Pamela Skaist Levy first founded a company it specialized in maternity wear and was called Travis Jeans. This company had an amazing and successful line of incredibly comfortable maternity jeans that were stylish as well. Travis Jeans eventually evolved in to Juicy Couture which started out as a very unknown brand of high priced shirts.
When Juicy first hit the scene they focused on delivering the most fashionable, comfortable line of women's sweat suits and sports wear. Juicy Couture was so popular on the West Coast that they eventually expanded their line to extend a full line of women's apparel.
The Concept was quite simple with Juicy, stylish and comfy. Both of the original founders enjoyed both fashion and shopping, and saw the huge need for fashionable and comfortable women's wear. They felt that if they made what they wanted, it was likely the same thing that others were needing as well. They couldn't have been more right. It was hard to walk around California and not see "Juicy" on someone's outfit in big, bold letters.
The Juicy Couture Clothing Line Expands
The more popular the name became, the more they expanded their products. It was in 2002 that Juicy decided to offer their collections for both the men and children in your family. Juicy also offers different accessories and clothing for your dog including dog carriers, dog beds, leashes, toys, tags, collars, and different types of clothing.
Juicy's Clothing line is so popular that they even have their own Barbie doll which are of course wearing miniature Juicy Couture outfits and
carry their own juicy logo shopping bags. When you have a Barbie doll adorning your clothes then you know you have a successful line.
In 2003 Liz Claiborne Inc decided to take over and purchase Travis Jeans Inc. with all of it's assets included such as Juicy Couture. This cost more than $53 million as well as a percentage of the future earnings. Gela Nash and Pamela Skaist Levy were still co-presidents of the company and to this day continue to the main creative hands of Juicy Couture.
Once Liz Claiborne Inc. took over ownership of the company they decided to immediately expand the line to include swim wear, shoes, handbags, accessories, and of course jewelry. Likely the most popular product next to the Juicy track suits are the amazing Juicy handbags.
You can always depend on Juicy to provide your entire family with the most fashionable, comfortable clothes in the industry. Juicy has been made famous by the people who live in their attire such as Paris Hilton and Pamela Anderson. When you check out the different items that are offered these days it is hard to believe that Juicy started out as a small company specializing in fashionable maternity clothes.
