Spot the difference

Because Juicy Couture charms are a hit among the public, it is no surprise that there are already counterfeit versions of these charms that are being sold online. What's terrible is that the sellers of these fake Juicy Couture charms claim that they are selling the real deal and the buyers buy it for two reasons; (1) the sellers post stock pictures of the charms and not the actual item or piece that they are really selling, and (2) the buyers are not that familiar yet with the Juicy Couture charms collection and they are fairly new to buying these charms.

Know the real thing and not

Be on the know-how

Even if you are a huge fan and collector of Juicy Couture charms and you can instantly spot the fake from the real ones or this is your first Juicy Couture charm purchase, it is important that you keep these things in mind when you buy on eBay or in any other online shops:

• Before you decide to buy that charm you saw on eBay, make sure that that charm is an existing item from the Juicy Couture charms collection; check out the Juicy Couture website.
• Most of the time, the pictures are a dead giveaway that they are counterfeit products. You'll see a bright, shiny yellow instead of a real plated gold. If you take a closer look, you may even uneven crystals from some of the items or a different color from the real Juicy Couture charm.
• Stay away from sellers who sell Juicy Couture charms in bulk and do not have any feedback from previous buyers.
• Ask the seller for a side-by-side photo of the actual item that he/she is selling and the stock photo from Juicy Couture. Watch out for this as this may mean they don't have authentic Juicy Couture charms as they say they have.
• Fake Juicy Couture charms are a huge "limited edition" fan, for some reason they make each item limited edition when they're really not.
• Ask the seller to show you the box, including the barcode of the charm that they are selling and you're planning to buy.

The real price

As someone who is always on the lookout for cheap deals, I don't sacrifice paying for a slightly expensive item as long as it is authentic. Sure, a sale or a discount can be the answer to our prayers but with or without it we should make sure that we are getting our money's worth. You might think that since the item that you see on eBay and other auction sites is priced like that on the Juicy Couture website, that it's already authentic; or because it's a dollar or two cheaper that it's already fake.

My personal favorite is the chocolate covered strawberry. The strawberry is covered in pink crystals and the chocolate is a brown enamel.

As you can see there's also a martini glass and bannana split charm.

I really like the details on the banana split charm, the ice cream is topped with miniature crystals.

I'm a big fan of the paved look.

If you don't know what paved is, its just something that's nothing but diamonds so it looks like it has been "paved" with diamonds.

Juicy Couture created a fun sky blue gum ball machine and it is as exciting as you might imagine. The little gold flap where the gum ball should come out opens. The top is clear plastic so you can see the emerald green, lime green, pale yellow, turquoise, clear, pink and lavender gum balls which come in the shapes of stars, hearts, squares, or round stones. Above the gum ball dispenser is a small gold slit where the quarter should be placed for payment. The underside is a copper color with the words "Juicy Bubble Delight." This Juicy Couture charm is a rarity and definitely a must have for a collectors edition. I have seen this charm for sale on e-bay for $200-$500+.

The Popular Juicy Couture Jewelry Box Charm

This charm is one of my personal favorites. It's a jewelry box you can open and close which features pearls, baubles, and gems inside - as well as a vanity mirror! The soft pink lining inside makes for a nice touch. The drawer handles are cubic zirconia. Expect to pay around at least $100-$150 for this retired charm, its rare.

The Swarovski Crystal Juicy Couture Seahorse Charm

This beautiful charm is made with Swarovski crystals and features a glowing jade green body with black enamel striped accents on its tail and fin. This is near the top of the list when it comes to the most rare and in-demand Juicy Couture charms. Difficult to find, you can sometimes find this charm on E-Bay for at least $150.

The Yorkies Chasing Hydrant Charm - 2004

This charm was released way back in 2004 and retired sometime after. It features 2 little Yorkshire terries that rotate/chase around a fire hydrant. The dogs have swarovski crystal collars and the charm also has 14kt gold as well as plus black enamel. This was one of the first Juicy Couture charms to ever exist, and you'd be lucky to find an authentic one on Ebay.
